A flexible and effective form of outdoor sun protection
The Building Elegance folding shutter is a very dynamic form of outdoor sun protection. By opening or closing the shutters, the facade immediately transforms in a spectacular way. Folding shutters provide an unobstructed view to the outside when they are open and effective protection against light and heat when they close completely flush with the facade.
Configurations
Building Elegance has been building folding shutters in projects for years as a manual or motorized sun shading solution. Folding shutters give a building a strong dynamic effect by radically changing the facade image from a closed, monolithic volume to an open, transparent building envelope. The panels fold away from the facade and join literally adds an extra dimension that makes this transformation even more impressive. Several configurations are possible. See examples below.

Frame profiles
The standard folding shutters are available in two different depths, both in a motorized version and in a manual version. The frame with a depth of 65mm allows larger spans than the standard 60mm frame.

Standard rail profiles
Our shutters fold and slide between a standard top rail and two types of bottom rail. They are always suspended in the top rail by means of high-quality shafts and carriages and can thermally expand at the location of the bottom rail, regardless of the type. The floor rail is available as a standard extrusion profile or as a double box profile.

The shutters have many different possibilities. It is possible to vary the infill, the frames and even the bottom rails. When choosing the frames, the occurring wind loads must be taken into account, as can be seen in the graphs below.
